Create a companion piece to support an initiative meant to create greater engagement that helps foster a positive work culture.
CHALLENGE
Year-after-year staff was given token promotional merchandise as a way of saying thank you for their years of service at their annual convocation. This particular year the executives were dealing with two issues. One, they were seeing a dip in morale due to the budget cuts. Two, they had less money to work with than in prior years.
Project Solution
Every year a video was created and shown to help pep up staff for the start of the new school season. This particular year, executives wanted to foster greater empathy among co-workers.
After much research, the direction was clear... focus on the co-workers and how they could take control to change the dwindling morale. I came across the talk by Drew Dudley's Ted Talk, Everyday Leadership. It was the perfect way to illustrate how staff could help shift the narrative and celebrate their co-workers.
A postcard was designed and given to staff at the convocation to keep the momentum going after the event. Each postcard had a lollipop attached as a reminder of their sweet moment. Additional postcards were printed for staff to send throughout the year.
